About the Vedanta Society of Hawaii

The Vedanta Society of Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit spiritual organization located in Honolulu, Hawaii. We are part of the worldwide Ramakrishna Movement, founded on the universal teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and his foremost disciple, Swami Vivekananda. Our society is dedicated to promoting the ancient wisdom of Vedanta philosophy — one of the world's oldest and most profound spiritual traditions — in the multicultural, spiritually open environment of Hawaii.

What is Vedanta?

Vedanta is the philosophical foundation of Hinduism, drawn from the ancient Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Brahma Sutras. At its heart, Vedanta teaches the unity of existence — that the divine is present in all beings, and that the goal of human life is the realization of this universal truth. Vedanta is not a sectarian religion but a universal philosophy that welcomes seekers of all backgrounds and traditions.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote the universal teachings of Vedanta, to provide a welcoming spiritual community for seekers in Hawaii, and to serve humanity through education, meditation, and the practical application of Vedantic principles in daily life. We offer classes, lectures, meditation sessions, and spiritual guidance to all who seek a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.
